Candy by the sea

What’s this?

Here are bags and bags and bags of what we call fairy floss in Australia and cotton candy or candy floss in India.  Their pinkness is set off very nicely, I think, by the yellow of a battered, old vendor’s cart.

Where’s this?

The walkway along Marine Drive, a 3.5 km palm-fringed boulevard in South Mumbai, Maharashtra. The boulevard overlooks the Arabian Sea and is a wonderful place to watch the sunset or the monsoon coming in, and eat snacks.  Thousands of people come here every day, to walk their dogs, jog, stroll hand-in-hand with their friends or sit as close as possible to the boy or girl they want to impress.  With its beautiful ocean views, you might want to live in an art deco apartment on Marine Drive, if you have lots and lots of money!
